New Generation Supplements

New Generation Supplements has grown into a major force in North American livestock nutrition, operating a sophisticated network of manufacturing sites and joint ventures.

The business develops and continually enhances nutrient-dense supplements for cattle, horses, sheep and goats, grounded in extensive university-led research.

Its facilities in Oklahoma and South Dakota, along with joint venture sites in Iowa and Tennessee, allow it to serve diverse regional markets with locally adapted formulations.

Driven by science and innovation, New Generation Supplements delivers targeted, high-performing products designed specifically for North American forage systems, climate conditions and livestock operations. This innovative company is the manufacturer and supplier of Smartlic®, and Horslic® – a unique range of cooked molasses-based high energy feed licks for all types of cattle, sheep, goats, deer and horses.

All products have been developed following extensive independent university research, to confirm their effectiveness in improving animal health and performance on-farm.

Key product brands include SmartLic®, Feed in a Drum®, HorsLic® (US) as well as a range of private label tubs.

Caltech Crystalyx

Caltech, a division of Carrs Agriculture Ltd, based in Cumbria, was formed in 1993 following the commissioning of the new feed block plant at Silloth.

This innovative company is the manufacturer and supplier of Crystalyx®, and Horslyx® (Europe) products – a unique range of cooked molasses-based high energy feed licks for all types of cattle, sheep, goats, deer and horses.

All products have been developed following extensive independent university research, to confirm their effectiveness in improving animal health and performance on-farm.

Crystalyx feed licks are sold throughout the UK and northern Europe and more recently in New Zealand to become market leaders in their field. Caltech has four sister factories, one in Germany and three in the USA, producing similar research-proven products for the Eastern European and US markets respectively.

Scotmin Nutrition

Scotmin Nutrition began in 1979 as a family business supplying nutritional supplements to local farmers and has grown into a leading supplier of livestock nutrition in the UK. With more than 100 years of combined expertise in dairy, beef and sheep nutrition, the brand has a clear mission to help farmers achieve maximum performance at minimum cost.

All products have been developed following extensive independent university research, to confirm their effectiveness in improving animal health and performance on-farm.

Scotmin Nutrition distinguishes itself through comprehensive service offerings that extend far beyond product supply. Services include pre-cut grass testing, forage analysis, forage mineral checks, milk trace element analysis and detailed ration advice, creating a holistic approach to livestock nutrition management.

Its product development emphasises animal health, performance and overall farm profitability. Popular products such as Superfeed M for convenient beef cattle feeding, Protein Energy Tubs and MEGALIX Quattro Mag reflect a practical, result-driven approach to solving real farming challenges.

Key product brands include Tracesure®, Megalix®, Megastart®, Megamins®.
